Well for the one part, i think i was underweighted, so my postively buoyant bum floats up, and also my finning technique is incorrect. My downstroke is harder than my upstroke, and i have been told to make sure that they are even.
We are using just a cybershot to shoot the vids, so i wide angle lens isnt really an option right now. $$$$$$ This is all in the pool. Our vis in the ocean varies a lot. It can be 15 metres one day, and 3 metres the next |

We have taken some video by fixing the camera to the end of a pole and walking along the side of the pool pushing the pole along. You can get footage from right in the plane of the swimmer from in front and behind. It seems to work well. As Dave pointed out the problem is then reviewing - pretty hard to do on the 2" LCD screen.

The underwater video camera is my best technique coach - sorry Chris. Once you start to get your technique going then try filming a long dive from underwater - it becomes really obvious as to what parts of your dive you need to work on, eg increasing number of strokes/kicks per length (loss of power) and lost technique (can increase drag), speeding up (time the lengths), buoyancy changes, turns, etc.

I reckon for statics it would be good to video your face from under water - you'd really start to see when you need to work on relaxing, etc and how much you're responding to the pain of contractions. Good fun.

Video is very handy I think even in static apnea to help pick up and correct bad habits that develop. I have used it to great effect I think in improving myself. I have gotten good feedback from others who have watched them too. I highly recommend using video.
