Question Suggestion: consolidate email notifications

Hi,
I frequently unsubscribe from threads that I am interested in just because of the sheer volume of email they generate. It would good if just one mail a day was sent (and then only if a subscribed thread has "seen action"), with links to all threads that were updated that day.

BTW some threads (e.g. Devon 2007) send mail which includes full text from the thread for many posts (including ones I read some time ago), while others just include a link to the thread (perhaps I just set some option different on the Devon thread).

Also some threads email each time a post is made, while others cause just one notification.

Re: Suggestion: consolidate email notifications

Well, this is not something you need to ask administrators for. You can configure it in any way you want in your user settings yourself. Personally, I disabled the email notifications entirely, because I check out the forum regularly enough, and do not like to be harrassed by email. You can as well select daily or weekly digests, if you prefere.

Thumbs up Re: Suggestion: consolidate email notifications

Thanks Trux, I must have experimented with the options a while ago. Couldn't find them in the menus -- but unsubscribing & then re-subscribing to a thread brings up the various options.

Re: Suggestion: consolidate email notifications

The global setting is in your User CP >> Edit Options >> Messaging & Notification >> Default Thread Subscription Mode. You can change it into daily or weekly notifications, or no notifications at all.
