I expect they already took the money and ran -- like that boss at Leighman Bros. (denied to the congressional committee taking $500m out of the company shortly before the collapse but admitted taking $60m salary & $250m bonus - nice work if you can get it). Apparently the British Govt. actively encouraged and required our Councils (inc. mine & Dorset included), & the police forces*, to put money into them. Seems like everybody has a stash of millions in Iceland, except the highly over-taxed taxpayers (like "Joe the Plumber"!

). Wonder who was accepting the kick backs for that advice? One council representative said they were just following the advice of
John Prescott
-- he wouldn't be my first choice of financial advisor if I were about to invest millions of pounds.
*Fortunately our prisons are already full, so they might as well cut back on police.
