I decided to register for the supporter program but am stuck. I have a Paypal account but am opting to use CC. I can't use CC until I log into paypal. When I log I don't see an option to use a CC. What it tells me to do and what is available on the screen are not the same. I'll try again but am getting frustrated.
Forgot to add that initially I'm supposed to be able to choose my prefered payment method but there is no option for this. Only Paypal.

Why don't you simply pay with the balance on your Paypal account? That works just fine. If you have no funds on the account, simply add some before paying.

I do not quite understand. Are you afraid that they will steal from you the $9.95 instead of sending them to Deeper Blue? That sounds quite ridiculous, but even if they did it, you can always ask your bank for a charge-back - they cannot refuse as long as Paypal does not have your physical signature for the very transaction (I mean for the transfer from your CC or bank account to the Paypal account).
Another possibility - use payment with a credit card without logging into your Paypal account - you just need to use a different card and email address than you use for Paypal. Single-use temporary CC numbers most of banks provides for electronic banking is very well suited for this. I highly recommend it anyway also for assigning as the main Paypal card, or for any other online transaction - you can revoke the virtual cards with a single click with no cost and without calling your bank, whenever you suspect some abuse. And if you do not have any other CC and you really do not trust Paypal, then I guess the best thing you could (and should) do, is canceling your Paypal account - you should be then able to use the CC directly. |

Now you have to use a Creditcard, I don't have one.

I do not believe there is anyone in Netherlands who does not have a credit card. If really so, ask your father or a friend and give it them back in cash if necessary.

In fact, I don't know anyone who has a credit card.

You must be joking! Maybe you do not even know that you have it - that's the flat plastic thing approximately 6x9cm that you get when you create a bank account. In the last century, I've been living in Germany quite close to the dutch borders, been frequently there but never met anyone neither in Netherlands nor in Germany who wouldn't have a credit card. Although they are called "credit" cards, you can use also most of the "debit" or ATM cards - the word "credit" is used just for historical reasons - the functionality of most bank cards is identical, regardless if the funds are charged from a credit or directly from your account.

And I think you can create a PayPal account also without a credit card - common billing accounts should be sufficient - you can then move the funds there directly from the PayPal interface and make online payments.

Yes, I have the "flat plastic thing" but it's not the kind of credit card you can use for this kind of transactions. My card is not Visa, nor is it a Mastercard, it's a Maestro card, which you can't use on Paypal. A Creditcard is something completely different here from what we call a "PIN-pas".

The cost of mailing, and processing of $9, and of the currency exchange, and then manually editing the DB database, would be likely several times higher than the paid amount. I don't get what's so wrong with Paypal. If you really want to pay, it is not that complicated.
