Is it now the case that you have to be a supporter not to see ads?
The other day, although I was signed in, my screen was full of ads for the first time. A message popped up that if I paid to be a supporter the ads would go. I paid (bloody good way to get me to join as a supporter, I hate advertising!) but my "cool blue name" thing hasn't kicked in yet! what's going on? S

Yes - you need to be a supporter to not see ads. Actually the ads were supposed to be shown to everyone from months ago but I realised that I hadn't configured something properly the other day. To identify yourself as a "cool blue" Supporter - you need to set your group membership to "identify yourself as a Supporter". Don't complain Sam. I've been a supporter for a year and I still have to look at the ad for the 'Supporter program' every time I sign in

Damn right you should complain Bill! My problem is I can't test every eventuality when installing new things so need people to tell me if they are seeing odd behaviour!

JFYI, I get to see the ad for the supporter program in my User Profile all the time too. At the beginning it irritated my little bit, but I already got used to it. Still, it takes unnecessary place at the top and forces me to scroll more than really needed, so if it can be removed for suporters it would be appreciated.

Righty-ho - i've done some adjustments and the supporter program message will only appear to registered users who are not a supporter. This applies to both the top header message and the user CP.
Let me know if anyone spots any bugs!
