Hi,

here are several pictures of my free diving and yoga instructor Martin Chenicek (FII). All pictures are from cenote The Pit, very close to my small eco-hotel I co-own.

I love Tulum, it is changing and getting more commercial but still beautiful! If you come off-season, the beaches are almost empty! The best way how to enjoy free diving in cenotes is to stay very close, so you are the first at location (8-9 am). This is definitely true for well known cenotes like Dos Ojos. The second advantage of being there in the morning is the angle of sun rays that penetrate the water and creates unbelievable scenes you see on the pictures.

Here are my tips to enjoy life around Tulum:
- Xcacel beach - just a perfect beach! Nothing else :)
- restaurant Los aquachilles for best tacos in town
- Don Cafeto for Aztec breakfast and yes. for coffee if you like
- salza evenings in La Zebra (every Sunday)
- ice-cream from small shop with picture of monkeys (i do not remember the name)
- bio restaurant on the left from Mixik shop

If you want best place to stay for free diving - check La Calma (I am co-owner), it is only 5 minutes walking from Dos Ojos, we have own yoga studio, it is very small eco hotel situated in the middle of Mayan jungle, capacity of 16 people maximum, and yes we love free diving! :) If you are interested, look at www.LaCalma.org.
