Hi everyone.
I'm from Ireland and living in airdrie.
I've brought my freediving gear and keen to get a few dives in soon as it's warming up and the ice is clearing.
I'm thinking about heading to lake minnewanka very soon for a dip if anyone fancies coming or suggesting other places to try.
Would also love to hear about spearfishing here and it's legalities etc. I didn't bring my gun but would consider buying one here if it's worth my while.
Looking forward to hearing from you all.
Thanks.
Johnny.

Believe it or not, they snorkel down the Bow river once a year... Fast and dangerous... But it does happen!

I havent looked up the regs for Alberta, but I doubt if they would allow spearfishing for any type of trout--but basically from Edmonton south to the border pike and walleye abound, I suspect these may be available to you, but you must check the regs. good luck.
