Hopefully that will chear up JTK.

Amazing engineering, they are trying to hit a target of the size of a dinner plate from two miles away.

? where did you read/hear that? a dinner plate? seriously? if it stops this oil : i will be freakin' ecstatic. last time i heard they were a long way off, and they werent even sure it was gonna make the flow stop. they dont seem sure. they have amazing technology. if they would just stick to their own safety rules and maybe put some redundant safeguard in place, similar to a military base. they are set up, so no ONE person can make a mistake, and cause a problem. redundant security precautions. stuff like that would be better. maybe actually put some army corps of engineers guys on the rigs for security. and whle they were there, they could oversee the drilling to ensure no corners were cut. kindof like a construction inspector. something different is in order this self regulating thing is just not gonna work anymore. can all the non oil employees agree on that?

I heard on NPR, science Friday.

The relief well is another well that is being drilled from two miles away that hit the current leaking well under ground, then they force cement into the broken well in order to plug the leak. They have to go deep to the mud weight is enough so th relief well will not blow.

Basically they are ¨spearing the well" with another well from two miles away under the ground, I was someone surprise to hear that the well was just 200 feet away, since the first time line was end of August. Perhaps the announcement on the show was wrong, but that is the only thing that can stop the leak.

More info, if you are interested, the pressure at the well head is 5000 PSI the well is 5000 feet under water.

We all know BP mess up royal but they are trying to make it right (IMO), Exxon was not that friendly back 20 years ago. The federal government also fail us allowing them to mess up. But we all share the same love for the ocean. It is a very sad thing.

No one else but the oil companies have that kind of technology. The investment for something like that is huge each one of these wells coast 300 million dollars, BP is drilling two.

Have you seeing any tar balls in Key West ?

the government are playing out a big show for the public .
they are much mor louder than when hurricane katrina struck .
how many people got paid out for the governments shortcomings.
i think some companies who are struggling are going to milk this problem for all that its worth .
its the worst global recession since the thirties , which was started by ... erm well we wont go there ... its been quite peaceful recently..:blackeye
