Next spring I will give professional diving a go starting out with DM course in Huatulco Mexico. Since this area is still relatively unkwown I was wondering if there are any fellow divers who had experience with diving in this part of the world who may have some good pointers.

Didier,
Greetings from southern California! Diving in Huatulco is definitely a seasonal thing when it comes to water clarity. During the rain season (june-sept) run-off can drop on-shore visibility to a meter or two...however, that happens to be the best time to hunt big pelagics in that part of the world. The 500 & 1000 fthm curves are uniquely situated off shore so the clear blue ocean current and the green run-off create a current/color line and, in turn, a circle of life unlike any I have seen in my travels. If you happen to venture here please remember..."in the land where you take one breath to take one life, your next breath may be your next life." Where did THAT come from!! Sorry Didier...too much ice cream. By the way, the local scene is great, the people are beautiful, and happy AND not so many white folks!!! HAVE FUN, hope this is helpful.
