I was mostly looking through the visualart site, posted just a few times... I was born in Bucharest and moved to Los Angeles 8 years ago. Since then I've barely got the chance to go vizit.

Re: places to see in romania [and somme drawings made by me:p]

there is a region in romania called BUCOVINA
an island of beautiful landscapes and religion
in this region many church was builded by former rulers in the middle age as a thanks to god after various victorious war against otoman empire
two of them bellow
the architecture of the church is a gothic one
in ortodox religion, the gothic style is not so impetouos and big as in the catholic; it is sayd that when you eneter in this house of god you must be humble, and there is no need to built high structures to impress god because our believs allone must be high...

first MOLDOVITA
second PUTNA

in the near vicinity of PUTNA church there is a natural sort of cave who once was the residence of an old romanian saint, who lived here the last 10 years of his humble life

Felicitari Vali! Eu vin de linga brasov, stau acum in germania.

Sorry guys I HAD to introduce myself in romanian! I was born there in 1977, and left the country in 1991. I'm now living in munich, germany, doing my phd in biochemistry.
Vali, can you tell us more about diving spots in romania? In 1998 i was in the black sea the last time, and visibility was poor (around 6-7m). The shore is mostly sand.
What about lakes? Any mountain lakes with good vis?
Is there a freediving community over there? I searched the net from time to time, but found nothing.

sunt din ploiesti. Pictez si in ulei dar f putin, pentru ca nu am conditii propice
3d pentru jocuri nu fac, dar sunt familiarizat cu 3d studio max [lucrez cu el pentru proiectele de arhitectura]

now in english:
i'm form ploiesti. i paint in oil to, but v rarely because i don't have the appropriate conditions an time for that...
with 3d studio max i work only for architectural projects...
about the diving spot in romania:
i allready have a thread with izverna cave [only for scuba diving]
in romania the freediving is unfortunatelly almost inexistent
this is bad because wie don't have logistic and products and not even one pool for freediving
la good visibility lake is "balea lac", on the transfagarasean road that passes the mountains, but the acces to that very high placed lake is only in summer time
in the rest of time the roads are closed because dangerous conitions

I just saw this

Well Toulouse Lautrec had some amazing ideas anyway. although i cant draw very well, I still did art at school and used to get As for my history of art essays... i love it!

i loved those eccentric French artists that seemed to bed loads of women, paint amazing paintings but never had any money Then after they died years later their paintings get valued at millions of bucks. Ironic isn't it?

His paintings of women, sex, couples and scenes of night life of Paris revealed all his feelings about the subject matter and he hid nothing. and for a very very short guy, he seemed to have a lot of sexual success!

Cezanne was another of my favourites with all his paintings of Martinique. But the master of all women's curves, in my opinion, was Edgar Degas.

There is one of his painting of a woman drying her head with a towel, sitting on a bed which is my favourite as we have a similar body but i cant find it.

edit: btw.. Romanian is quite easy to understand if you speak Catalan and Spanish, I didnt realise how close the language was to other romance languages.

Re: places to see in romania [and somme drawings made by me:p]

all that you say is indeed true
in the impressionist period there was some romanian painters to
one of them is speciall for me: nicolae grigorescu
if u will search on google i guess you will find some of his peintings
i'm impressed how easy he catch on the canvas the genuine romanian country people....
and yes...the romanian is very close to portughese and spanish and italian and french, because our language was a child of the latin...spoken in the early times by romans
so
...more drawings.... in a few moments
