Another question about your trips to Wakatobi--do you have an airline/route recommendation? Starting to plan a trip there w/a local shop(midwest) in June, but need to get our own airfare. SO MANY choices overwhelm me!

Definitely Lembeh Straits for muck diving ( like visiting an alien world ! ) Also if you're in that area checkout Gangga Island , a very well run dive resort with top dive guides . In the week we stayed we saw all the critters on our tick list including Pygmy Sea Horses , Blue Ringed and Mimic Octpus , Mandarin Fish , Harlequin Shimps , a Pegasus , Cardinals , Flamboyant Cuttle Fish , Ghost Pipe Fish , Leaf Fish , Frog Fish of all types , Sea Krytes , Paper fish and a Turtle called Rambo who must weigh at least a ton !
Another destination I would recommend is Mafia Island off the coast of Tanzania , prices compare with the Red Sea but the dive sites are pristine . Diving here is easy and relaxed with an enormous variety of different sites ( there was even something called the Kinasi Express , a super fast drift dive ) , also you can snorkel with Whale Sharks , we jumped in with 15 different Sharks in one afternoon ( ok some may have come round twice but who's complaining ? ) . Mafia was so good we're going back this year , and yes lots of the stuff is run by Italians but thats not why it's called Mafia !

My favorite places have been Manado and the Lembeh Straits (superb muck diving) in Indonesia. i am planning for my trip. anyone can suggest best place for trip.
