Re: Long toms

I caught something similar in Thailand and someone told me they called them Crocodile Needlefish or something. They hid in the reflections of the water surface - quite a good way to hide! They were so flexible that unless you shot it through the head they could find a way to bite you!! Loads of thin bones but tasty - must be the same thing.

Re: Long toms

For us its a Longtom a garfish is like this http://www.amonline.net.au/fishes/fi...haustralis.htm
Whereas this is a longtom http://www.amonline.net.au/fishes/fi...sh/tgavial.htm
Our Garfish have a Beak which has no teeth but a Longtom has has lots of teeth on its elongated jaws -However some people call them alligator gars or needle fish.
