Is there an October FOM ?

I made trophies up to and including September for both the UK and CI FOM's. Had intended to provide ones for Oct, Nov and Dec but to be honest I have been a bit disappointed with the response, not from individual members just as an overall thing. The comp's have never really taken off and I personally stuggle to find info about entries and winners. However I am still willing to support it if others are.

would be nice just to get in the water - this weather is shocking.... Had we had a better summer I think the f.o.m comps would have been much better and more supported... as for me, I have not caught anything of note this year! Mind you late last year I had a nice Turbot, so there is time yet..

I only had one entry and it was always on my mind when I was out diving. I think it would be a shame if there was no FOM for next year. If there is ( and I really hope there will be) maybe a we should make it that you can only win one month and then entered into the end of year comp. just a thought.

I will post a thread for the October FOM Comp.Sorry it's late but work is full on at the moment..

I hope to keep them going until the end of the year and then we can all vote for our FOM Fish of the Year.

Thats ok Scott,but what if 1 month you win it with a 10lb bass,the next month you cant enter and you get a 12lb bass,then at the end of the year comp somebody else wins with a 11lb bass.
You will get people not putting fish up for the fish of the month comp if they havent got what they think is a good enough catch,they may win a monthly comp with it but no chance of the yearly comp,so they sit back hoping to get a better fish and may not enter at all.
I wouldnt like to catch a 6lb bass in say April on the last day of the month knowing that the best catch so far was a 4lb bass,if i entered the fish in the comp it would stand a good chance of winning,i would then have to sit the rest of the comps out.

I agree and I'm still hoping for a better fish too!!
I've spent a bit on newspapers and mostly I don't read em.

Hopefully if Papa Smurf says the FOM comp can run next year as well we will discuss any ideas during January - March until the comp would start again in April 2009.
