guys, i might come to dubai around January...is it a good time for spearing? where can i go for some good shore hunting? or better yet rent a boat to go out? i have all my gear, but wont brong out my speargun too much hassle, i could always drop by al sammak or al sayyad for yet another speargun though

haha sorry Jewan, its quite the opposite from dead, i dont go for hamour cause never see them, the vis. is constantly at a low at the shereton now it sucks yeah the last ppicture on the 3 there was at shereton but the HUGE baraccuda (1m+) was at the corniche, on i was telling you about sara, it gave me a nice lil free under water ride as well :P
sara you know anyone that has an ok boat and will like charter it at a very nice cheap rate much appreciated!

if you are looking for a boat.. i have a rubber one.. with Aluminum base... new in box... not opened yet... i'm using a simler one.. with 20HP Honda engine.. it is great.. when i don't need it... i pack under my bed... it is 3.6m think about it

Nice catch there! Haven't seen you for a while, are you still diving or busy studying for your exams? I've been out regularly with Oz (when he can be bothered to wake up) and have caught some decent size stuff. I'd post some pictures but not sure how! We've also managed to score a little zodiac which is useful...

Give me a bell if you're up for some action next weekend.

First post. Moved here form FL a few months ago, thought I would pop in and say hello. Hello. My boat got here recently and my brothers and I have been out diving every weekend so long as the seas are under 5ft. just tryign to track down the spots (getting numbers and the like) If any of you guys dive between AD and Dubai let me know. If there are any dive trips - I am definately in.

hey there, we are practising freediving (no guns) quite often and also teach courses if you want to improve your breath hold and depth.

I would really like to take that class, however there is a catch. it is only available to women, or so the sign says. if it is open to men as well i would sign up.

Nope, the sign says that freediving classes are for men and women, its only the scuba classes that are for men.

we have a number of guys signed up already, from UK, The Netherlands, New Zealand..... are you coming?

If you have a boat that you don't mind having confiscated, Dhs.25,000 that you wouldn't mind parting with and 6 months of spare time you wouldn't mind spending in jails, plus of course if you're not really bothered by the Coast Guards, the Army or the Enviromental Authority depriving you of all your gear.. drop me a line and we'll go to Ruwais (350kms from Dubai) for a once in a life time spearfishing trip..

We were once caught and interrogated by the coast guard on the East Coast for diving 3km away of a US ship. It turns out , the US Navy got involved and it was a very long day.
