Question Cutting off shoulder-straps

Hi,

I have a 5mm Cressi Competiton that's generally very comfortable but a bit short. The only problem with this is that it's a bit too snug around the groin, and this has made for some very very uncomfortable and frustrating dives.

I'm thinking if I cut off the shoulder straps (making the bottom into a high-waist trouser like other suits) this would loosen the suit's fit where needed. I'm worried about ruining the material, though. Should I just cut off the straps and excess material from the front and back with a good pair of scissors? I'm just wondering if there are any precautions I should take or if this might damage the suit.

Thanks,
motaz

Re: Cutting off shoulder-straps

just cut away! If you put a small blob of glue where you have cut across seams it will stop the stitching unraveling
You may find that you need to tighten up the fit a bit around the torso by taking out a couple of V shaped sections
cheers
