Suit Knee Repair

Opened up the knee of my suit today as luck would have it. I want to stich and glue it up but also I think a knee pad would be a good idea because the knee area is in general bad nick.
So the question is: What is the best glue for the join and what is the best material to use for the knee pad? Also is the standard neoprene glue OK for glueing the pad onto the nylon exterior?

Re: Suit Knee Repair

Bostik 2402 is your best bet. Whatever you do, dont use Black Witch, its shite. best material for the kneepads is 2mm neoprene. I have seen bits of inner tube used, which is pretty much indestructible, but it stiffens the knees up a lot

Re: Suit Knee Repair

I've got glue in stock.
I will have a dig and see what neoprene I can find. Getting hold of it in the UK is fairly difficult now that pretty much all wetsuits are imported. I normally cut up an old suit
