Comfiest 5 mm suit

Dear colleagues,
I am in the market for a new 5 mm wet suit - open cell inside and some kind of nylon or smth outside. Other than these specs my most important requirement is for that suit to be most comfortable to dive in - that is that neoprene is most elastic and the design of the jacket is detailed enough anatomically.
My good friend Marco has recommended that I try Dessault xtendu
Dessault : French manufacturing since 1980
I have also looked at Beuchat Camo
Beuchat - Megasub - Artigos Náuticos, Lda.
and considered Picasso Ghost.
In short, I would be grateful for any tips on what 5mm open cell/nylon wet suit you can give me

Re: Comfiest 5 mm suit

Dude all those wetsuits look good specially the Dessault one's. They seem to be made of the highest building quality. It all goes to how much are you willing to pay? You can also get a custom made wetsuit that suits your needs. Elios, Marea, Polosub, Effesub, etc why don't you do some searches here there are plenty of threads on these specific topics! Again those Dessault wetsuits look tough!

Re: Comfiest 5 mm suit

Thank you. I saw Elios suits at a Moscow diving expo and they had smooth skin exterior - which is not an option for me, given that I dive in rivers full of sunken trees, etc, I need smth more durable. I am willing to pay 300 euros or so and even though there are many brands I know I have not worn them all, so I don;'t know which one would be made of softest, most flexible neoprene

Re: Comfiest 5 mm suit

Uh, with elios You can choose whatever neoprene/lining/coating You want. That's the point, really.
You will notice that the suit I have described in the post linked to above has an outer nylon lining. it cost less than 300 and is very durable indeed.

Re: Comfiest 5 mm suit

Looks cool! Is it real soft, though? I already have a basic Picasso 5 mm suit (it is getting old kind of) and I am really looking for smth soft, like say, Picasso Ghost 3 mm I have. Where do I order an Ellios? Plz advise!

Re: Comfiest 5 mm suit

Have You searched through the forums yet? Elios sit at Home and are also really helpful and give good advice when You send them an email.
But You can do all the reading on here before You go and ask them.

As for soft, they're as soft as You want them to be. You can get Yamamoto, which is AFAIK the softest around, or something lined with kanoko superstretch, ... or whatever.
I have a 5/6mm suit and it wears extremely well and keeps me nice and warm, too.

Look at all the info on here and You'll have everything You need for an educated decision.

Re: Comfiest 5 mm suit

I'm thinking also about a new suit!
My decision is between a POLOSUB (Liscia Spaccata) and a TOPSUB ( Supercaccia XP) 5 mm suit.
now my question: which one you would recommend , and is the price difference is justified ?
Polosub about 375,00€ and Top Sub about 225,00 €

Re: Comfiest 5 mm suit

I read it before ! and I asked about Polosub and Topsub because i already decide that it should be one of them!
ELIOS is somewhere in the middle with the price and the quality I suppose somewhere like Topsub, also some Croatian guy's don't praise the Elios suits they used!

Your Highness of Paris, how are you?

I have tried and also seen guys wearing the Beuchat Camo, and also that Beauchat reversible, both saying very comfy, flexible and warm.

God! Sometimes I wish it were Soviet times again when we used to have just ONE or a maximum two suits of a particular size to choose from in some of the regular clothes stores to say less of diving equipment . So many options these days, that it is mind boggling! Now I am thinking that Beuchat Camo could be my choice again - Ellios would have to be shipped and I am concerned that it could get lost or smth else could wrong while Beuchat I could just buy over the counter. And I must say I alwasy found Beuchat suits and guns sexiest of all!
I am doing fine, Island Sands, daydreaming of the Med and sun. And how are you?
