My suit, Please help

I ordered an oceanos suit a little while back. The pants fit like a dream, but they come up a little high. Can people tailor wetsuits, or would It be better for me to just reorder a new top. Thanks.

Re: My suit, Please help

From Your post I can't see what the problem with the current suit is.
How high do the pants come? Mine come to a hand's width from the nipples, which is about as it's supposed to be. higher wouldn't be a problem either, really.

With glue, patience (possibly needle and thread) and care You can readjust Your suit, of course. If the suit is lined and You want to sew it, make sure that You don't sew through the neoprene, but only sew the lining, leaving (most of) the neoprene below intact to keep the seam waterproof. - IIRC, Elios have a schematic drawing on their site somewhere.

Re: My suit, Please help

The pants on my Elios suits come too far above the waist for me. It only takes a few minutes to trim them to the bottom of my rib cage on the front, leaving the back alone. A few dabs of rubber glue to make sure the stiching doesn't unravel and the suit is more comfortable. If you change your mind, it only takes 15 minutes to glue the piece back on.

Re: My suit, Please help

I concur with the above. Modifying a suit is really not that difficult...as longs as the modifications are simple in nature. I had to cut out a larger face opening on my open cell, yamamoto custom suit. I got some new seal material from the company I ordered from, cut the hole bigger, and used neoprene cement to glue in the new seal. Works like a charm.
I've also seen people cut the tops off the bottoms with no problems either. Good luck!

Re: My suit, Please help

the pants are meant to be high on freedive suits - this is so you can fold them down and the sticky (inside) of them ends up against the sticky side of the top - making for a better seal

So DON'T cut them off, just fold them down

Re: My suit, Please help

The real problem is in the top, The arms and head are fine, but the chest is huge and it goes way to low. The strap doesnt even come close to tight.

Re: My suit, Please help

smart,

Sorry about the issue. I rec my oceanos suit not too long ago and the fit is great ( like you wanted to hear that!!) But you should double check your measurements you sent Spiros and see what he cut your suit to. He seems like a good guy who is cares about customer satisfaction and his rep as a quality suit maker. So talk it over with him before you try any mods on it.

good luck

Joel
