high waist pants?

I'm looking to buy a new suit from Eilos, and the rep. suggested high waist pants as a better solution that long johns which I'm used to. And I don't know anyone who has used these pants, so I'm just wondering if anyone here has any good or bad experiences with them...?

Its been pointed out to me that do have one distinct advantage over long johns.... if you a specific need while out in the water !

I also need to choose a camoflage pattern, if anyone has an opinion about the camo Elios offers... cheers

Re: high waist pants?

I think for the reason you mentioned the specific bad experience would be with long johns on

I like having the chest area free so there is no constriction on the surface when i'm taking my maximum breath.

Its not just in the water. Even if you are in a boat when nature calls, its a big advantage when you don't have to remove the entire suit before hanging off of the swim step. I don't have a suit like that myself, but on occasion I've been envious of my friends who do.
