I always try to plan things a year out since people are coming in from so far away. It makes it easier to buy plane tickets and ask off from work.

Do you think your going to make it one of these years Jim?

I'm glad you've set it so far in advance- We pick our Vacation times for the 2008 year in September. That week will have to be my first pick- Or I won't get it. It's a hot time of the year for others to take vacation. Can't Wait!

Hey.. speaking of Calendars... my 2 daughters that are Viking's Cheerleaders have MN Viking Cheerleader calendars for sale... proceeds go to a children's hospital.. with just their autographs $20.. signed by all the cheerleaders.. $25.. talk to me, I'll get 'em signed and shipped.. (looked like a good time to get a plug in for them) and sorry guys,, it's not a swimsuit calendar like last year,, but more a 1920's "speak easy" theme, slightly more tasteful. guys is this event purely freediving, or is there some spearfishing? if its just freediving i dont think this event is for me. i think my bottom time at max could be a minute, with a max depth of 30 feet. at any rate just wondering

There is some spearing done as well (mostly suckers). There are a number who do both freediving and spearfishing. The things you will learn can greatly inhance your spearfishing performance. Your call, but this is the best event in the Midwest for a bunch of people to get together & discuss this unique sport. For me, mostly a spearo, it is a must attend.

I'll BE there! Oh, and just so everyone knows, my story from this year's event has been submitted, and is now, as Paul told me, "in the infamous pipeline"....

I cannot miss this one...The only problem is...I'll have to rent a trailer to pull all of my goodies up there by then!

I have THREE hobbies...Fishing, freediving, & polespearing! I can't beleive all the STUFF I'm quickly accumulating!!!!

Fabulous, planning on it! But, with three days to dive, you better rig a longer line, say 150? I want another shot at that scotter!

Fleshy, one of the funnest things about this event is the ability to try toys you never had you hands on before. Like Gene said, its about the best learning experience you will find.

Freedive-A-Palooza will go on as scheduled. I'm willing to help in anyway- just not sure on what needs to be done- But I'm sure it will be just fine! FREEDIVE-A-PALOOZA must go on!

There will not be a "Freedive-A-Palooza V" this year - Is Cancelled.

REASON: Although Freedive-a-palooza was a GREAT time and could be again. A Camping weekend at the lake will take it's place. People will have to be more responsible for themselves. We're not saying we can't dive together- but just not everyone at once and along a strict line of rules to follow for safety reasons.
