Freediving and Spearfishing in Fakarava atoll, French Polyensia

Looking for French or English speaking dive buddies in Fakarava! Come visit :)

I have been living in Fakarava, Tuamotus, for one year now. I love freediving and spearfishing, practicing a lot, or anytime I can find a buddy! I have two guns and a bunch of other gear, but oftentimes I leave the guns at home to peacefully enjoy the nature.

I am a Performance Freediving International PFI Intermediate level certified freediver. My personal best is 4:30 static apena, 3 minutes while spearfishing, and 33 meters deep with fins. I have been practicing freediving for three years, while cruising on sailboats from San Francsico to Mexico and all around FP. I have sailed over 20,000 miles at sea, and just bought an Edelcat Open 35 this year and refit it with my boyfriend to sail around French Polynesia, to visit remote anchorages, and make photojournalism stories about local life, from our home base in Fakarava.

We rent out a clean, simple, sunny, guest room with double bed, in our beach house for 50 USD a night, including bicycles, breakfast, kitchen access, and barbecues when we catch fish. For the same rate, you can sleep on the catamaran by yourself (or with your travel companion) at anchor, in front of the house, and next to a bunch of gorgeous coral heads, in normally clear lagoon water perfect for free diving. Or you can rent out the whole three bedroom house for 185 USD/night. You can see our airbnb listing for the whole house- or if you rent the guestroom, your bedroom would be the one with the yellow curtains:

Whether or not you decide to stay in our home, it would be a pleasure to meet and practice with a new dive buddy.

Also, if you would like to sponsor gear for our adventures, please contact me for what I can offer you in return.
