After being just ever so slightly apprehensive about venturing out into the sea for the 1st time i actually conquered just that on Sunday. I had never even been snorkelling before so even that was a nice change. We went out off shore with me getting used to this wonderful new experience and just snorkelled around abit watching the fishes etc and then went out further and did a few practice dives down to approx 7 metres which was really cool. We then when out further to approx 12 metres and my friend says to me "I will be suitably impressed if you can do this" and you know what ... i did do it and i feel fantastic for being able to do it. All in all it was a very cool day and i do believe i am still smiling. I am just loving all these new experiences i am having, whether it be meeting new people to trying new things or pushing myself beyond what i ever thought i was capable of. I am doing my 1st static attempt tomorrow night so that will be a good test for me but i'm looking forward to it. Also found myself a Picasso 5mm wetsuit for a bargain (hope it fits) All in all "Life is good"

Thats a very cool story and well done on the dive. I hate pool sessions for exactly that reason. I used to dive in the sea before I started pool practice sessions and its just so boring...

I train in the pool 3 times per week so it was a very nice change out of the norm.

12M on your first ocean outing! Excellent and congratulations.

Now the more you go out to sea the more your going to want too, its addictive like that, in a good way of coarse :)

Way to go!
Funny how people get into freediving. - I've always been snorkelling and looked into freediving (doing my first pool training after 25 Years of recreational snorkelling :t ) coming from there - while You're pretty much going the other way round. :)
I know well what You're experiencing. Snorkelling is a great experience.
Enjoy it!
