A great day out on Sunday, off Miami Bch with my son, light wind outa the ENE, seas a calmy 2-3, vis was great for the past windy days about 20' made a drift hunt on about 30-40' which lasted all of about 2 hours, saw plenty of fish and jellies- some nice yellow j's & makerel, seemed headed in a hurry towards WPB- played mostly superviser while my son hunted...definitely doing it right, calmly picking his shots, (actually passed quite a few shots, which I later
)did a houdini on a black which I thought he hadn't even seen- classic dip&bump, swimming down away from him, while he was still vertical (on his decent) about 2 from the bottom blacky ascends about a foot and begins a very slow qtr, while still vertical he let loose his steel gift...didn't know what hit'em...damn, my boys making me proud
water started to get cold (and colder out of it) so we wrapped it up with
2 fryer hogs
1 tag teamed mut
1 houdini grouper
Went out yesterday, incredibly different than Sunday wind was E 15-20 with some choppy 3-4's, and the water I'd say at least in the low 70's high 60's (or so it felt) so we headed in for plan B, which ended up in plan C (since the hole we hit-plan B- had some sorry vis) visted a small (well hidden
)wreck on the bay side , that always seems to have a few resident groupers- seemed word got out cause every hole had mango's and blacks, vis was a 15-20' for about an hour and the sun wasn't cooperating either, and our friends were rather spooked...but shootable- again Pez-R.I.P. stepped up to the plate with a perfact stoner at full extension (about 18') of his Euro Riffe, fish went belly up( guess that talk got to him) on his first shot...the vis changed rather quickly to a cali 5-6', and the water tempt. went from nippy to cold as shmit, hunt was short, but bountiful.
3 grouper
5 fryer go's
1 Octopus (out Pez- rips grouper belly...but that wasn't his last meal
