2005 Summer Apnea Games

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
I've also added some links to local attractions, the constant weight competition site and accomodation info.

OK,

The competition is over and Tom is still here in Athens with us for an interview with Deep magazine.

As you may have already read (thanks Bill), he made two WR performances. Dynamic with fins (212m) and without fins (175m). It was an interesting (and a little funny) experience to see Tom completing the urine sample procedure. I think he was a little nervous and kept drinking water (with no immediate results) and at some point he said: “It is harder to do this than to do the dives”.

We also had some very nice National records and some fantastic performances. There were also a few surprises and many psychological ups and downs. I will try to write a report-article for deeperblue soon (but only if Stephan promises to post the pictures as well ;) ).

I will have the competition results up on the competition site asap.

I would like to thank all the athletes who joined us and hopefully had a good time in Greece. We hope to see you here again.

Is that new record with bi-fins or did Tom Sietas switch over to the 'dark side' too?
Aloha
Bill

It was done with bi-fins. Sorry the full results are not up on the site yet. Our web master is away and I'm busy writing the article for Deep magazine and taking care of other post-competition details.

Hi Panos,

I´ll give you a helping hand then.

Aniko took a few pictures of the resultlist in Athens, wich I posted on the Danish webpage.
STA, DNF, DYN and CW.
http://www.danskfridykkerforbund.dk/02news/news_dk.htm

I can not guarantee that these are the final results, but there is a guy named Tom Something... who did pretty good!!! (Big Congrats Tom!!!)

The page is only in Danish, but be creative guys -and you will work your way through... :)

Hello everyone,

Peter, thanks for the help. There have been some corrections at the results. The final results are now up on the competition site: www.aidahellas.gr/summer2005/en

Who is this Tom guy? I never saw him. Whenever I looked for him, he was under the water.... :)
