Back in April 2012 we had to make some changes to User Privileges to stop abuse of images, links and signatures by spammers and other nefarious people trying to corrupt the use of this forum.
I'm pleased to say that after a recent review and further security precautions we have been able to reverse many of the more restrictive changes. Here is a summary of all changes:
To give you all some idea what a problem spammers are - we got 612 attempts to register on this forum by known spammers in the last 24 hours. All these were blocked by automated software and I know for a fact a small number will have gotten through and will have to be dealt with by the forum volunteer staff - so please bear with any measures in place they are here to help keep this forum a safe and friendly place for all (apart from spammers!).

- Newly Registered Users (those under a certain post count) will have restricted access to Avatars, Profile Pictures, Signatures and Posting Links until they have have reached a certain threshold of posts.
- After that point they become a Full Registered Member and have full access to Avatars, Profile Pictures, Signatures and Posting Links.
- All existing members who have reached the criteria for promotion have been granted higher access.
- Paid Supporters of the forum have had no changes made.
