Hey guys Key West Spearfishing Club is throwing a Tournament in August to raise money for the Key West High School Spearfishing Team. There will be a $25,000 prize for anyone who freedives a 51lbs black grouper as well as $10,000 in cash and prizes including a $4,000 diamond and ruby encrusted fish medallion. Should be a lot of fun hope to see everyone there.

Your $25000 prize is great BUT your choice of target species is POOR you should have picked a pelagic species in my opinion a comp aimed at larger sized reef fish which basically have home territories will have an impact on local fish stock and even worse generate bad karma for spearos when other fishos and the inevitable do gooders see the big numbers of shot grouper.
Best regards
Peter
