Been looking latley for some accurate data for comparision between roller and traditional spearguns but all what i could get are results on different setups which is really disapointing what i would like to actually see is the on same gun same setup same shaft same rubbers same barrel lenght comparing the range, power and accuracy 2x16mm bands on traditional open head vs 1x16mm band on roller gun then i would like to compare 2x16mm,1x14mm band on open head vs 1x16mm roller and 2x16mm,1x14mm open head vs 1x17.5 roller finally 3x16mm open head vs 1x17.5mm roller
What do you think? Which is better and feel free for posting ballistic tests.excellencey is achieved by paying attention for the smallest details

That is not a reasonable comparision.
Also U left out a really important factor; money
If we are to compare set fairly, they should also cost the same. Since we can not do this, we have to find a medium.

The rubbers in roller have almost twice the draw length @the best &the effective length is even greater. Also the rubbers can be pretensed in the roller. Thus the 80 cm roller may infact have the same or even greater thrust aplied to spear then 130 cm traditional. Since part of the rubber pull is countering the shot, the recoil is also lighter &steadier. On top of this all, in roller, it is possible to use 4 rubbers vs. 2 on regular gun with out losing any power in the elbow. Thus a roller gun can have enormous load on a lot shorter spear.

Do you see now why comparison between 110 roller vs. 140 blue water gun is somewhat fair. Although I do understand your idea, but it is not really a meaningfull comparision (bit like comparing black gun powder musket &smokeles gun powder cartige rifle based on the length of the barrel &weight of the powder).

Rollers are just makin their way. They are simply bettter hunters when it comes to the fishing, but they cost more, eat more rubbers &are not as reliable as the traditional guns. (&in the single rubber setup loading must B a bitch)
