I have a question for the pros, we are having a hell of a time to glue the C4 blades to the omer foot pocket. What is the best way to use the 3m 5200 selant.

Do I need to apply on both parts wait for it to dry and then glue them togheter or do I glue them right away.

No, 5200 is a pain to work with cause it sticks to just about everything anywhere near where you are using it. The only tricky thing is the length of time it takes to dry, full strength takes some time.

Get everything stuck together, clamp it so nothing will move and leave it undisturbed for a week. After that, It will NEVER come apart. and I do mean never! be careful not to glue the clamps to your fins.

First, tape off the fins so you don't get 5200 all over the blades like I did.

Second, I used lots of string to wrap around the ribs a bunch of times to keep the blades tight in the fins.

Clean the inside of the ribs and the edges of the blades really well with acetone first, then break the surface lightly with fine sandpaper before you start gluing.

Leave them alone for at least 2 days to set, a week is better.

Are you back home in Brazil yet?
 
I am in Brazil, great fishing the water is really warm 28C, lots of markel. I am quite impress on the strengh of the C4 blades. My friend has these blades fro three years, the blades are still good. He very abusive diving at least 4 times a week. The omer pocket is totally wasted but the blades are still good. If we in AK get one of those would last us a life time.

I did my expirement with the Teak-sea, azimuth, four bands 8 mm hawaiin shaft (flopper down) with an o-ring holding the shaft, it is definitly shooting better, I am ready for the cuberas now.

Thanks for the advise you and Connor, I think I need to get a polish disk to get rid of the old glue, there is a quite a thick layer left on it.
 
Enjoy the diving. it was +1F (-15C) this morning on the way to work. Makes me wonder why I'm still riding my mountain bike!

If the glue already sticks to the blades, then worry about getting the channels on the inside of the ribs really clean with acetone.
