3rd Copenhagen Open

Hvidovre Freediving Club invites you to participate in the 3rd. Copenhagen Open - indoor freediving competition

This indoor freediving competition will be held in Copenhagen on Saturday the 29th of September and Sunday the 30th of September 2007 and will include all of the following freediving disciplines:

Static Apnea
Dynamic Apnea with fins
Dynamic Apnea without fins

3rd Copenhagen Open is a "National With Guests" type of competition. The competition will follow AIDA standards and results will be valid for World Ranking and National Records.

Preliminary schedule
Saturday: Static apnea and dynamic apnea with or without fins.

Sunday: Dynamic apnea with or without fins and award ceremony.

Pool
The pool Frihedens Idrætscenter is 25m long and 1.8m deep. Pool temperature is expected to be around 26 degrees. All disciplines will take place in the same pool. The bottom is adjustable, so during static apnea it can be raised to a shallower depth around 1.3m.

Registration
There is room for 24 athletes. The price is 45€ or 335DKK for each atlete.

We have decided to make the combination of disciplines more flexible - now you can do dyn-dyn, dnf-dnf, dyn-dnf, or dnf-dyn.

However, for the overall ranking in the competition, we will only count the points from each type of dynamic once, so the dyn-dyn divers don't win automatically.

Going for two attempts in the same discipline or going for the overall ranking? It's entirely up to you :)

We have a good mix of beginners and top freedivers joining us. Check out the list on Freedivers on 3rd Copenhagen Open :: Freedive Central (although it is far from complete), and please consider signing up there. Remember that your registration is not complete until you have paid.
