Hi to everyone!!!
I would like to know if i could find a pipe with the same diameter/thickness with my speargubn's but instead of 75cm pipe convert it to 90 or 110cm? Is this viable? (I don't know what brand it is a friend of mine found it in an old storage).

Would this work?

Thanks in advance, and lucky fishing!

There is no problem making your change. The issues are matching exactly the diameter of tube you need, and the availability of longer shafts. The 75 probably comes with a 105 to 110 cm shaft. A 90 would need 130 shaft, and 150 for a 110 gun. (all numbers assuming a euro gun and staying with a 6.5 mm shaft.

The muzzles, handle and triggers and the tubes are interchangeable in the right diameters, I changed my guns length but the other way round, I cut down an Omer Cayman 110 to a 60............. I got the 110 when I first got into spearfishing and I will never need that much length were I am:D I think that's one of the great things about euro's, they are so versatile and component parts are fairly easy to come by!

I tried and it turned out really well... Im also thinking bying a 1m 2mm thick carbon fiber tube instead of the aluminium... Do you think it will work?

Nicholas,
As long as the tube mates with the handle and muzzle it will be great. Very stiff and accurate.

If you have any experience with wood work I suggest you use wood. You can cut a groove in it and create a much more accurate rail gun. they float better ,they dont corrode, easier to paint camouflage on and they look cool! I have converted a number of smaller tube type guns into larger rail guns and roller guns over the years

I'm good at woodworking but i dont like the look that much.. Also i think teak or some type of wood that i can use in the sea must be expensive....
Anyway thanks for the replies they have been really helpful!

That probably will not work. Typical aluminum tubing is about 1 thick. if you have the same outside diameter, the inside diameter of the tube will be 2 mm too small. For accuracy you need a tight fit without forcing the handle or muzzle in.
Can you sand down the diameter of the handle and muzzle to make it match?
Some handles and muzzles are thick enough to allow this without making them too thin, and some won't

Either band set up will work. The single 19 mm band should provide plenty of power, and be more accurate. Too much power will make the shaft vibrate, losing power and accuracy, and it will cause the gun to shoot low, because the shaft will be pointed below the point of aim if the recoil lifts the muzzle.

Thank you ! You really helped me.. But since this is going to cost to me a lot i dont want to experiment... I will buy next year an Apnea Rayo 83 Carbon, it's a really good speargun and one of the most accuarate and apnea is one of the best -if not the best- Greek spearfishing and diving company, and when i overgrow it i will just buy a roller muzzle that comes from the company!
