Lets make a list of all deep BO´s we have seen in competition.

Not the ones that BO 2-3 meters below surface and float up, just the ones that would have sunk if not saved. (We are discussing lanyard safety in another thread) some statistics on how many deep BO´s there has been could be useful.

Hubert 10 m Ibiza
Wolle Dahab
Alex Dahab
Klara 22 m Lysekil
Kiara 17m? Hurghada
x Hurgada
Anabel Hurgada

Tom L. 22-24m (CNF 60m, AP: 50m)(logistical error: bottom plate 21m too deep) CAFA Nationals Vancouver (2003)

Mandy C. 15-17m CAFA Nationals Vancouver (2003) (WR attempt 71m)

Simoni 18m (from 58m CW) (New Caledonia) Sardinia 1998 WC

Enzo Maiorca 25m (from ?85m? variable weight) ?1970?

Not competition:
Loren Maas BO @ 15m on the bottom during recreational dive (died)

For the purpose of the mentioned discussion it might be also usefull to add the method of rescue to the list (safety diver, counterballast, with/without lanyard, etc...) - if known.

Hi all

Panos had a deep BO in competition at the national games in 2003 or 2004. He BOed at 20+ (24-25m if I remember correctly) and was rescued by the comp's safety freedivers.

Natalia BOed at the 3ple Depth 2006 during her CNF 60m WR attempt. She BOed at about 15m (maybe a bit more - I was taking photos at the time and she seemed in deep trouble from around -20) and was rescued by the comp's safety freedivers.

If I remember correcly Alexei's 2005 BO at the 3ple depth was also quite deep (20+m)

Cheers Stavros

PS. Not wanting to create a "hall of unfame" I think there is no need to use full names. If anyone wants to investigate single cases its easy enough to find full names.

But it's pretty obvious right? rofl
