A little bit of Aussi for ya

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
That was kinda funny:
You got 13 answers right.
You got 7 answers wrong.

You're a battler. Not much of a one, mind... but getting there.
You will have no trouble getting around, and understanding most things that are said to you. However avoid RSL clubs and old peoples homes, the nuances are lost on you.

I guess I'm ready to visit aussie-land in a few months!

13 right, 7 wrong, can I be an honorary Aussi Crusty? :D

I got 16 =)

You'll be apples! Well... nearly anyway.
You will communicate fairly effectively with the native population, but they will still mutter "bloody yank" when you walk out of the pub.

I dont know why they would mutter "bloddy yank" but anyway....

Woohoo!! :)

You're a bottler, mate!
You are a fair dinkum, ridgy didge, dinky die, true blue, dyed-in-the-wool Ocker-like strine speaker. Well bugger me, you could probably even play a didgeridoo and know the proper way to twirl a billy. Goodonya. Get us another stubbie while you're up, will ya... and have one yourself while you're at it!

I cheated actually :duh :hmm :ban :waterwork . My first try I got 18 so just had to see what 20 would be like. Sort of helps being an Aussie though :) Man, that was hard though!!

Not bad for a mid-westerner who spends most of his time frezzing his arse off in a foreign country working for a boss who is a 3rd cousin twice removed from Ghingis Kahn.....

15 right
5 wrong.

I'll bring over my stubbie cooler and have a mag witya so I can learn some more.

Crusty

It's always fun to try a new language. I learned some 'Aussi' English 15-20 years ago, but forgot it all. I can however speak a little 'Cockatoo' to my roommate and Wal always understands when I say G'day, so I took your test. 9 out of 20. To tell the truth though, it was 3 correct, 3 wrong and almost 50/50 on the guesses.
Aloha

18 right 2 wrong and bitterly disappointed and will hit the "frog and toad" in disgrace.
