It still needs a proper shaft and shooting line, but I just couldn't wait any longer to post some pics.

This was the prize for a raffle held back in December to raise money for the FRA (Fishing Rights Alliance). Tickets were $5, and Griswold and I volunteered to build any gun that we were capable of for the winner. This is what Barry wanted.

61" overall
Shooting a 65" ish 5/16" shaft
Neptonics Tuna Mech
9-1/2 lbs loaded

The small screw on the top is for the spring resetting line release.

Dressed up with an amazing Mahi inlay supplied by CFHunter:

The rear half of the track is enclosed, using black G10 composite. The forward half is an open track that is molded into the top of the Carbon Fiber tube. The tube is 1-7/16" OD, but with the recessed track, the shaft sits no higher than a 1-1/4" tube. And it is filled with syntactic foam to add a little mass and guarantee that it will never flood.

Gotta have the latest in AR-15 handle grips:

And a custom Delrin muzzle:

I know where all the little "Oh Sh!ts" are, and Barry builds beautiful guns himself, so he will no doubt see them too. But I'm not telling . . .

Outstanding craftmanship Tin. This may be the the only ET hybird I have wanted to own. I like the muzzle and the step for the handle to center
mass to the shooters hand/arm. It has a vintage wood look with contemporary materials.
Cheers, Don

That is a very very nice looking hybrid complete with all the custom fittings anyone could wish for. :friday

Can I have one? I'll pay $6.
Thats the best looking gun I've seen in ages, hope he appreciates it.

Regards,
Dave.

jeff, OH MY GOD!! you have been holding out on me. you have been showing me pics of this gun a couple times. i thought it was an older project.,(NOT cause it looks old!) i need some pointers from you. first of all.: explain the spring loaded line release.,(riffe style maybe? (i like that style) also the shape of the wood section. WOW! you know i am waiting for those cf tubes. i have two wood sections already made for the two hybrids, but now after looking at yours, i want to make 2 new ones! what kinda foam did you use? what were the outer dimensions for the wood section that you started with? one last question:how do you cut and rig the push rod bent like that? sea sniper does it too. i dont get it, seems like it would bind. but i gotta have it! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!
