After about 30 minutes training in the pool two days ago,
I started my regular exhale statics practice.

The second hold was planned for 40 seconds.

A short breath-up, exhaling and a little push torwards the bottom.
Traveling slowly down, but stopping at approx. 2 meters,
perfectly balanced.

Hovering cross-legged with my hands on my feet, I close my eyes,
just for a few seconds, or at least so it felt.

Feeling comfortable like I have just started,
I open my eyes to see if I've already passed 30 seconds.

The stopwatch showed 2:16.

I started ascenting because I was diving alone.

After 15 more minutes practicing, I got out of the pool, and fell down.
getting beck up again, barely standing.
My muscles were all slack for 2 hours.

A new level of relaxation.

Man, that might have been your undoing. :rcard
There are plenty enough people to have BO/LMC'ed on 2 min FRC/exhles.
I wouldn't be as relaxed about it as you regardless how good it felt, it's a failiure as your main target is to stay SAFE.

Slack muscles=good vasoconstriction.

Agreed. Get smart. Some moron just BO'd in a pool last week in a neighbouring city, and now I'm getting asked questions by reporters, etc. Stupid questions from a trained freediver's point of view, but natural questions from a layman's world. You should know better. I'd rather not read about your death. Your choice :duh
Get a brain, get a buddy.
Cheers,
Erik Y.

Be careful!! I once did a dry exhale static to about 3:15 and then blacked out. There was no warning at all, no urge to breathe. If it had been in the pool, I would never have suspected I was near the limit.

Please get a buddy!
