In a zoo in California, a mother tiger gave birth to a rare set of triplet tiger cubs. Unfortunately, due to complications in the pregnancy, the cubs were born prematurely and due to their tiny size, died shortly after birth.

The mother tiger after recovering from the delivery, suddenly started to decline in health, although physically she was fine. The veterinarians felt that the loss of her litter had caused the tigress to fall into a depression. The doctors decided that if the tigress could surrogate another mother's cubs, perhaps she would improve.

After checking with many other zoos across the country, the depressing news was that there were no tiger cubs of the right age to introduce to the mourning mother. The veterinarians decided to try something that had never been tried in a zoo environment.

Sometimes a mother of one species will take on the care of a different species. The only "orphans" that could be found quickly, were a litter of wiener pigs. The zoo keepers and vets wrapped the piglets in tiger skin and placed the babies around the mother tiger.

You do realise that she caught on to their little game and i just playing dumb because she knows that in a few months time she will have some nice fat little porkers running around to consume at her leisure.

And who ever said pigs are smart, I hope they can work this one out before it to late.

Baby pig Says to mum, '' Mum what big teeth you have ''

Cute!

I remember reading somewhere that someone saw a bird bringing worms to feed the fish in a garden pond, as if they were baby birds. The fish were probably goldfish or small carp, and their yellow and red mouths look a bit like baby birds. Maybe the bird had lost her own brood, or didn't have any, and adopted a new family. I hope she didn't try to sit on her nest.

How about the mother of piglets, didn't she get depressed after her babies taken from her?...rofl

Think it's funny, do you? :naughty

I happened to be raised by a very loving platypus, who taught me freshwater freediving.
