Hi I'm going to be in kerry for a holiday in August I've done a lot of diving here in New Zealand and want to have a look around dingle peninsula the whole place looks brilliant on Google earth. Question. it is very clear and will I need a wetsuit for snorkeling? They say it's pretty cold over there? Tho It is summer, right Anyway hoping to catch a lobster have never seen one we only get crayfish in Nz. Cheers.

You will need a wetsuit as the water is only around 14 degrees, the further out toward the tip of the peninsula you go the clearer it gets.
Lots of spots for all wind directions so usually around 6mtr + viz, mostly pollack and Wrasse but also a few spots for Bass around there

Awesome cheers. Yeah looks like ya should be able to find a goods spot out of the wind any day. Looking up around wine glass bay as I'm staying in bellyfirter. Does get deep quick along the coast, really don't have save for my wet suit. Don't mind the cold but can only hold my breath for 50 sec in 14deg water. Hopefully it's enough to get a lobster. Can you spare lobster in Eire? Those claws look deadly.
