hey everyone,
i have a question about socks and/or boots. do you wear neoprene socks inside your fins or do you wear boots inside your fins? I'm sort of confused by this because i dont know whether to buy socks or boots. any feedback would be great.

It depends on what is comfortable and what fins you have. In general with a shoe type fin one would wear a sock and with a strap type fin/ open heel a boot is mostly worn but this isnt always so

Sounds like you've already got your fins? If so boots may not fit inside if you've been wearing them bare foot. Take them to the shop to test.

If you are buying fins and socks/boots at the same time then do what alison says - advantages of boots/open heel fins are you'll have proper boots to wear walking over rocks etc. Disadvantage of open heel fins is that they are mostly all scuba fins and not as streamlined and the open heel doesn't transfer the power as well. Less comfortable on a long dive too. All the high performance freedive fins are the pocket type.

Get socks and closed heel fins hypersquid. Best for power and control. What fins are you thinking about?
