Over the last few months I got sucked into triathlon training. I started cycling to improve my leg fitness and strength for freediving, and as with most sports you get sucked into more and more kit....

anyhoo, if there are any other freediver/triathletes out there that are budding winners, check out the prize money. Not to be sniffed at...

So if I win I can pay you back the airfare I'd owe you??

I'm getting into triathlon this year with my wife. I guess I still held out a hope I could get back into endurance racing again (used to be a cyclist) and FINALLY after a few solid years of pain following operations and rehab and scarring on my knees I have been into fairly torturous training on my legs. Lots of indoor training sessions, (check out "The Sufferfest") and I have now had two solid, although short, pain free rides!

So maybe one day we can meet up and race together! This year is rebuilding now that rehab is done! I'm just a little bit excited about all this!!

how awesome would that be?? what about the Ironman in Australia? Why dont you and your wife (and I) agree on a goal date, like the one in 2013? that gives us 1 year and 5 months to train.. in the interim you could enter as many triathlons/cycle races as you can, starting off with sprint distance and getting longer and longer each time...
 
You know what, that sounds like a bit of a plan! So far I have simple goals. 1) Do sprint length tri's with my wife next season (later this yr) and build up from there. 2) Do Tough Mudder Sydney in September with my friend Max. =)
Looks like 3) Do an ironman. =)
