what happens concretely if you "add" somebody to your "buddy"list ?

The buddy list is used to keep track of the friends you have made on this forum. By going to your "My vB Home", you'll be able to see which of your friends are currently online, and be able to send them a private message. Adding people to your buddy list also allow you to send private messages to multiple forum members at the same time. You may add any member of the forums to your buddy list by clicking this button in a member's posts.

Ignore lists are used for those people who's messages you wish not to read. By adding someone to your ignore list, those messages posted by these individuals will be hidden when you read a thread.

thanks for your explanations... but to be a "buddy" implies a minimum reciprocity...

suppose I add you on my "buddy" list and you add me on your "ignore" list...

what happens ?????

Not a great deal really as long as one is on the others ignore list, then unless that party chooses to read the others post but under normal circumstances that shouldnt happen

I dunno, I have a few people on my ignore list! I guess if you want someone to be your buddy you should PM them and ask them first.....

I think that must have disappeared with the big forum upgrade last year, I seem to remember it was part of the user control panel but I might be wrong there
