Advanced monofin

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
The video illustrates your point very well.
Mine I think would be medium/soft - compared with the video above - I am able to swim with less knee bend and less 'snap'. I can make slower undulations which provide thrust over a longer period of time and with less effort. It is the most organic feeling monofin I have used. (my others are all stiffer) I am also able to swim long distances on the surface very comfortably (blade angle I think has much to do with this.)

The video looks great.
I think you got me convinced. Starfin seems like a good choice fr what I need.

As long as you're honest with Alex, tell him what you want, your size, your usage and your foot size, I don't think there's a better "hyperfin".

With my Starfins Hyperfin I am completely successful in all things and well on my way to global conquest.

It is the only product I will ever need.:thankyou

I just measured my feet (interesting to know ) an sent out the order. Now I am excited to get the fin and take it to the pool. I will let you know if it meets my expectations

FYI: There is an instructor near Germany in Vorselaar Belgium with an X-20. His name is Felice Mastroleo. If you look him up, he can help you out with answering questions and with trying out an X-20.

I finally have my Starfin now. First impression is really good. It does not only look good, it also fits well. Footpockets are more comfortable than expected and getting in was quite easy with soap. I will try to get it to the pool in the next days, but I am afraid the lifeguard won't let me use it. Well, I will report back how it works in the water, can't wait!

I promised to give a review of my new fin, so here it is:

As I already mentioned the fin fits my feet well and getting in is easy. They are quite tight, so I could not wear them for longer than about 20-30min. I don't really have to anyways, as DYN and CWT do not take too long. Getting out was a bit hard. I don't think I will be able to get in with neoprene socks, but haven't tried yet.

So what happened in the water? The fin floats at the surface and is neutral at about 1m depth. Perfect for DYN I guess. During swimming it was very stable and never slid off to the side during glide phases or kicks. The blade also has the right degree of stiffness. I could not feel my back muscles getting stiff while still swimming at a good speed. Doing 50s in the pool was never this easy

So, thanks for helping me with the decision. Alexey did a great job!
