got this couple of nice african pompano while spearing in federal waters with ny-er. mine was bigger at 21lbs, his was like 14lbs. got him on the reef line in around 25 ft depth. swimming in a school of around 10. i took the biggest one of the three closest. ben got one out of the school too. a 6 ft reef shark was getting a little frisky while we were fighting the pair to the boat. we landed them both anyway.

Awesome fish...you could put them in the hall of fame perhaps?

I would like to put those in the Hall of Fame. A 21lber for jkt and a 14lber for ny er. Great entry for a new species. Fantastic catch, well done guys.

Dave.

we are getting bored in FL. I am jealous of the fish. I still have an afpo on my checklist to knock before I leave this place in 6 months. Got a permit but i'm sure there are already plenty of pictures of spearing them in FL fed waters.
