Gents,

I have been spearfishing for a while. Recently i though of starting the AIDA courses to enhance my skills. My question is, Is it essential to start from the one star course or I can start with the 2 star course knowing that I have been spearfishing for 6 months now ( 11m , 1 min) ??

I know this isn't the official AIDA site, but it's the first I could find that gives the pre-reqs.
Freediving / Apnea in Koh Lanta
Here they say that for ** you only need to be:
• 16 years of age or older
• Able to swim at least 200m non stop without fins, and at least 300m non stop with mask, fins and snorkel

So I guess you can start right at ** :) (this is also what I'm planning in Jan)

It's possible. I am also going to follow a course and I've contacted an instructor. 2 * is for people who already feel comfortable in the water.
