Akona wetsuits. Has anyone used one of these wetsuits. I might get one in 5 days but i was wondering how they work? I have heared that they dont have very good duarability . I sorta have a tight budget though. Im only 14 thx for any advice.

Kellya,

I've got an Akona 3mm that I used to like to use down in florida. I've used the 7mm in lakes in Alberta (prior to getting my cresci). They are decent wetsuits on scuba but are not suitable to freediving. You will find the shoulders restrictive making it hard to get your arms in the right position. The huge zippers will continually flood the suit with cold water and you will not be able to maintain core temperature.

Look into a freediving suit like the cresci or picasso brands, they have no zippers, great mobility and little or no water movement. Ordering from the scubastore is pretty painless and the price will be comparative to buying an akona locally. IMHO your better to save up and buy right the first time the spend too little money and spend too little time in the water.

Good luck

Imperfect

Its cool i am going down to a place near my house. They have a wetsuit factory down ther. Im not sure which brand but i heared they are a good brand. At the factory they have a small shop. They sell imperfect wetsuits for less than half the price!!!!! It may sound like they are bad but they only have small things like wrong colors and wrong colored stiching. I am going to take a look and maybe buy one. I want to get a good One and the prices are great!
Ps I think the brand is bare(good)
