At first it was all smooth, now i know after surfacing from a dive, the computers settings are unaccesseble for a few minutes, does anyone know by how much exactly?

Now the actual problem is that my aladin 2G freezes in a way, it aventualy allows me to go through it, but i have to wait ages, like a whole day and sometimes even the day after when i turn it on it is still on the screen as if i just surfaced from a dive.

So why is it sticking on that screen, i need it to stop as i need to be able to see my surface interval, time and plan the next dive..
How can i fix it, why is it freezing on that screen?

ps, pushing left button makes it beep but nothing happens, right button does nothing (not even beep) pushing both buttons together makes it turn off...but then it turns back on by itself a second after with the same screen showing tempereture, max depth.

pls help, getting stressed over it!

Hi dom12. I see the same issue with my 2G. My 2g is mounted in the 3 gauge console and it appears that water remains in the console keeping the 2G in dive mode. Even if I try and manually turn of the computer it turns right back on. I can blow the water out from behind the 2g and it will then turn off. I am going to contact Scubapro support for help and will post if I get an answer.

Have not heard from Scubapro yet but have decided to turn off the water contacts feature based on the following that I found on another site:

The problem you have experienced occurs mainly when Salt residue bridges the contacts on the front of the unit causing the unit to remain in dive mode. This can be solved by either washing and drying the unit after diving or as you describe by turning off the water contacts.

If the water contacts are turned off the unit will not automatically activate when you enter the water. However it will activate once at a depth of 0.6m. The pressure is checked once every 60 seconds. This means that it can take up to 1 minute from the time you descend for the unit to activate and so could cause a slight discrepancy in the recorded Dive Time. The unit will not penalise you for this and will actually show a very slightly reduced nitrogen loading and so lower deco requirement. Due to the large safety margins in recreational dive computers this is a very minor issue but should always be considered when using a computer.

My recommendation would always be to check your computer within the first couple of metres of your decent to check that it is working correctly. This is good to do with all kit to ensure that any issues do not escalate into a problem.

Works for me.

Thanks alot for the information Warren!
Yeah i just make sure to dry it and keep it dry at all times once out of the water and it seems to be fine, i also used a tooth brush to clean the water contacts of salt and it seems to have worked.
