Hi Aleks check out the Ireland spearing thread 2010 thats where all the paddies and others as well hang out. Good few heads in Dublin.

Looking for something different this summer....Any of you lads laid your hands on a nice size of a flounder? Myself mostly hunt Fethard,Hook Head,Galway,Donegal, places around Laken beach but catch is all the same wrasse, pollock, bass, mullet.Any ideas of a good places to spear around Ireland except Cork(goin' there in a few weeks)?

What were you looking for Aleks? I'd say with the odd exception thats whats out there. You will get some Triggers at times mostly further south but sometimes in the north west and west too. AFAIk flatfish floundr and plaice are easier caught at night. i would see them regular enough but a small size. The bigger ones are hiding in the sand and I am usually exploring the rocks. there are a good few heads down in cork.

Hi aleks, welcome. I'm only a newb myself but I caught a nice flounder a few days ago and just missed a massive plaice - it was during the day, but night time seems to be where its at ;)
I'm from Cork also, so I can't comment :)
