Gidday all, Nath Quin here from the land of the long white cloud way down south in New Zealand. We are enjoying a great summer with all the underwater inhabitants coming out to play. Some i must say are too large with gleaming over-sized triangular serrated teeth! This looks like a great site with loads of facts, news and helpful info. I have been teaching recreational scuba for a while but currently skipper on a private sportfisher in the Bay of Islands.
I am seriously considering a change to Commercial diving and understand the long hours, constant moving around certain risks that the jobs entail but believe these sorts of things are generally what i seek in a position. What i am unsure about is the different stages and levels there are and where is best to start. Also can anyone suggest some well known training facilities with high employment options following course completion as i would only seek the most professional level of training. Also can the knowledgable experienced ones give me an outlook into the future of Commercial diving and do you think there will be more popular areas and industries than others. I am 30 now and would get involved for a good period of time.
Any advice and information would be greatly appreciated as i look forward to making my next plan of attack.
Cheers and all the best. NATH QUIN
