Aloha to all
this is my first thread and what better way then to tell you all about my day at the beach spent free diving and snorkeling with my daughter and friends.
ne'er shipwreck beach a Hawaiian monk seal gave birth on 10/10 i was able to see the pup eating and playing and doing a lot of sleeping. thanks to volunteers Wendy and Tara who watched over the monk seal and pup, they gave us some facts that we did not know. the mother will not eat for 5 to 6 weeks not leaving the pups side and will lose hundreds of pounds of weight. the mother after 6 weeks will just leave the pup not teaching her any thing all the pups hunting and feeding habits are hard wired, there is so much more to learn about them, there are 3 spices of worm water seals 1 the caribbean seal is gone, the second one i do not remember the type only has about 40 to 50 left and the monk seal has 1200 and doing better.
some wind surfers are POed about not geting to play in there play area deal with it, it's only 6 weeks and they will be gone, i have some video of mother and baby coming soon.rofl
