question for those of you experienced in Egypt.

I was planning on moving to Egypt for a year to train depth. I have my own buoy and equipment. But i've heard a rumor that with mandates from the CDWS by law we are not allowed to swim outside the hotel zones without a registered guide.

Can anyone confirm this? or should I be free to train.

Not sure about sharm, but I lived in dahab for 6 months and you can pretty much do what ever you want..

With your own equipment I would reccomend Dahab in any case, there's loads of available buddies and the blue hole + bay in town is free to use when you please.

I'd go to Dahab. It's a mecca for freediving. Sharm has freediving schools as well but i'm pretty sure you'll find a friend group of people willing to train with you.
