Am I training hard?

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.

Hi.
about 2 weeks ago , my upper lung (behind right chest area) started to ache. it aches when i fully inhale or excel and when i rotate my arms. maybe its just some kind of muscle stretch or something. but is it possible that i damaged my lung because of hard training? i'd like to know how hard my trainings are. i'm 28 male. i'm not going to bore you with whole week schedule, this is one, almost typical day:

1.Dynamic Apnea (running 10X100m)
2.Physical workout (pullups,pushups.......and stuff)
3.Pranaiama
4.Apneatrainer (Co2 or O2 table)

I'll appreciate your answers. instructor advices will be great . Thank You .
 
You are probably training too hard if you don't take any rest days, and if you pulled a muscle you might want to ease up; injury and overtraining go hand in hand. Diagnosis over the internet is suspect, but if you are running fast on a full lung, I would think it would be easy to pull a muscle in your chest--we aren't designed to run that way. I do some different kinds of dry dynamic training but am careful with doing 'terrestial' exercises on a full lung--creates stresses and pressures that may lead to injury and, because of compression at even mild depths, those stresses aren't anything I would experience when diving. Hopefully it is nothing more serious than a pulled muscle.

I once had a swollen lung (not apnea related) and it would rub against the chest cavity and felt like i was having a heart attack because my left arm had a shooting pain that went up through my shoulder almost to my neck. Perhaps running with full lungs has caused your lung to rub and swell up a bit.

What sort of pranayama are you doing?

Also, are you packing?


I do standard (which is most known i guess) pranaiama, with about 9 exercises in it .

and yes i'm packing while doing pranaiama in order to stretch my lungs , but i don,t pack when i run.
 
It sounds like a heavy and intense training.

With your injury visit your doctor after a week of rest / recovery. I hope the rest will improve your injury. Ninja's words make a lot of sense to me.

My freediving goal is: to be under water from this chaotic environment, problems and other things, as long as i can. in the water i feel like i'm in other world, of silence, harmony and inner vision . Zero gravity place where i can fly . this feeling worth every moment of hard training. also i enjoy my trainings. if i don't train a little hard i will not know on what I am capable. chuck palahniuk said better than me : "only through destroying myself can I discover the greater power of my spirit."
