i just wanted to say how much better you'll be if you hold your breath a few times before you max hold. i know a lot of people talked about this, but i never acutally followed. i did some of those static tables, but they're not for me... instead i holded for 2 minutes, then took a brake for like 30 seconds, holded for l ike 2:30, ect., i always incressed by 30 seconds, but the rest time veryed. my max i got 3:30 and i'm sure i could have pushed myself to 4:00 but i stoped before... i always thought i would get too tried after i do two-three bigish breaths before my longest, but i was so relaxed and i'm sure i didn't feel contrations till 2:00-2:30 even thought i wasn't watching the time really. to this day i still belive listing to music relaxes me or i found that listing to music + watching anime /w sub titles just took my mind of holding my breath.. at one time i was like"...oh wait i'm holding my breath.." it was pretty crazy! do other people have different techniquesto get their mind off that they areh holding breath? another good one was to listen to music 'n watch the vizulasations on windows midea player and itunes.. i guess it scrambles my thoughts or somethime.

Just make sure that you have a spotter when you go for those long holds. You don't want to start a samba when you're face down!

hehe.. i don't do water breath holds.. strickly land since no one i know likes holding their breath :p but im gonna go swiming today so we'll see

It does make a big difference to do some short breath holds before the long one. Most people do that when they train. I used to do the thing of doing 30 seconds more each time.

Well done! :)
